triunfos robados

the crumbs upon my lips remind me of the bittersweet.

Societal norms block my vision of what is real,

while pain and suffering at this time seems to have become the norm.

How do we rise above this complicated state?

In silence one rumbles beneath a devoured spirit

and the only known path is to retreat within.

As we navigate our personal darkness and the hatred and rejection of the misunderstood, funnel clouds form to suck us all in.

 I stop as I refuse to take part in this all encompassing way of life

I 've never liked rules nor being told what to do

I've got my own instinct that acts as my guide

a heart big and strong, with a desire to build something new

without the fancy & shiny obligations of old.

I vow to rid myself of the cobwebs that obstruct my path

and with each beat of my heart I pray for resolution

Love, I feel as ferverantly as before,

more accurately it relaxes,

I now know, with all certainty, what has eluded me so long.

Tired of asking questions, I have merely let the truth be.

No longer do I need, any justification, reason, or motive to escape.

I know, deep in my soul, where it is I need to be.

I sleep more restfully, knowing this unwavering path,

-perhaps it was time and absence that drew a portrait so clear.

I now stand firm, for what I know exists.
